INTRODUCTION

CIGNAL SPRAY contains Sildenafil which belongs to the group of medicines called PhosphodiesSterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors. It helps in relaxing the blood vessels and allows more blood flow to the penis.

Avoid taking heavy meals while taking CIGNAL SPRAY, as it could delay the onset of action. Before taking CIGNAL SPRAY, inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and taking medications to treat it.

CIGNAL SPRAY is not intended for use in women. It is also not suitable for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years). Inform your doctor if you experience any painful and prolong erection after taking CIGNAL SPRAY. The most common side effects of taking CIGNAL SPRAY are flushing, headache, dizziness, blurred vision and muscle pain. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect troubles you.

USES OF CIGNAL SPRAY

HOW CIGNAL SPRAY WORKS

CIGNAL SPRAY works by blocking the effects of certain enzymes (PDE5) which limits blood flow to the penis. Therefore, it relaxes the blood vessels supplying the penis and improves blood flow and oxygen supply.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take CIGNAL SPRAY before meals or as advised by your physician.

If you are using a Tablet, Capsule: Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not cursh or chew the medicine.

If you are using an Effervescent Tablet: Dissolve the medicine in a glass of water and then consume it immediately. Do not cursh or chew the medicine.

If you are using a Spray: Spray the medicine beneath the tongue.

If you are using Oral strips or Oral jelly: Place the medicine inside the mouth until it dissolves on its own. Do not swallow or crush or chew the medicine.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

SIDE EFFECTS OF CIGNAL SPRAY

COMMON

  • flushing
  • indigestion
  • headache, dizziness
  • stuffy nose
  • effects on vision (includes light sensitivity, blurred vision, color tinge to vision, reduced sharpness of vision, or visual disturbance)
  • nausea

UNCOMMON

  • skin rash
  • eye problems (eye irritation, pain or redenss, watery eyes, double vision, abnormal sensation in the eye, seeing light flashes)
  • gastro-esophageal reflux disease (reflux of acid into the food pipe causing heartburn) and vomitting
  • dry mouth, nasal block
  • reduced sense of touch
  • high or low blood pressure
  • rapid heartbeat
  • feeling sleepy or tired
  • pain in legs, arms or in upper parts of stomach
  • muscle pain
  • presence of blood in semen/ urine
  • vertigo (spinning sensation)
  • ringing in the ears

RARE

  • throat tightness, numbness of mouth, fainting
  • temporary decrease in blood flow to brain
  • nosebleed
  • sudden decrease or loss of hearing

Stop taking CIGNAL SPRAY and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects such as:

  • severe allergic reaction (such as wheeziness, difficulty in breathing or dizziness, swelling of the face, lips, eyelids, or throat)
  • prolonged or painful erection (priapism)
  • chest pain
  • severe skin reactions (blistering of skin around the mouth, genitals or eyes, severe peeling and swelling of skin along with fever)
  • sudden decline or loss of vision
  • fits or seizures

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Dizziness Or Drowsiness

Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.

Headache

Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.

Nausea And Vomiting

Take CIGNAL SPRAY with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your vomiting worsens.

ALCOHOL

USE IN PEDIATRICS

CIGNAL SPRAY is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years). Consult your doctor before taking.

USE IN GERIATRICS

OTHERS

CIGNAL SPRAY is not recommended for use if you:

  • have any type of a rare inherited eye diseases (such as retinitis pigmentosa)
  • previously had vision loss due to non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (nerve damage caused due to lack of blood and oxygen supply to the eye)

Before taking CIGNAL SPRAY inform your doctor if you:

  • have sickle cell anaemia (an inherited blood disorder charactrized by low RBC count)
  • have cancers of blood (leukaemia) or bone marrow (multiple myeloma)
  • have penile deformation
  • have Peyronie’s disease (development of fibrous scar tissue in the penis that causes painful erection)
  • have stomach ulcer or bleeding disorder such as haemophilia

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking CIGNAL SPRAY, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

  • nitrates or amyl nitrites (used for reliving chest pain) Ex. nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrite
  • protease inhibitors (used to treat HIV infection) Ex. ritonavir, lopinavir
  • other medicines used to treat prostate problems or blood pressure such as alpha blockers (Ex. silodosin, doxazosin)
  • riociguat (a medicine used to treat increased pressure in the lungs)

B. Drug-Food Interactions:

Avoid taking CIGNAL SPRAY with heavy meals, as it may take longer time for CIGNAL SPRAY to start working.

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally took more CIGNAL SPRAY, consult your doctor or visit the nearby hospital.
